What custom sourcing must define
A C&I ESS cabinet should be sourced from a written project scope, not only a model name. The quotation should state included capacity, PCS power, cooling method, communication, monitoring, safety equipment, documents, freight, and any excluded installation work.
- Application: peak shaving, backup, solar self-consumption, demand management, or hybrid use.
- Site inputs: country, ambient temperature, altitude, grid voltage, footprint, access, and maintenance limits.
- Commercial inputs: delivery term, documentation, warranty, commissioning support, and quantity.
When to choose a cabinet instead of parts
A cabinet route is better when the buyer needs coordinated system scope. Component sourcing can work for experienced integrators, but they must own the engineering responsibility for rack design, PCS compatibility, protection, thermal design, and commissioning.
C&I energy storage system cases
Typical C&I cases include demand-charge reduction, backup for critical loads, solar self-consumption, EV charging support, and facility energy management. Each case changes the required power, energy, EMS logic, and reserve strategy.
